I remember my girlfriend taking me to a stake building in Northampton, to watch the Prophet speak to the saints in Britain. I remember feeling this great warmth inside me, I had lost my father many years ago, but this man was talking to me as if it were the love of a father to his child. I felt love and respect for this wonderful man and knew he was a man of God. I came home and prayed and decided I wanted to go to church on the Sunday. While at church the lesson was about keeping the sabbeth day holy and not working on a Sunday. I was a Head Chef and always worked on shifts that included Sundays. I felt the spirit of that lesson. I decided I needed to give my job up and pray for another one where I would not need to work on Sundays. I prayed and Within a week I was in another Job with more pay and no working on Sundays or Saturdays and I finished work each day at 2.00p.m. In a way I wasn't amazed at getting a job not working on a Sunday as I had faith the Lord would answer my sincere prayer. I was amazed at how many blessings that came to me because of the answer to this prayer. The missionaries came for dinner each week and then I was asked the challenge, Would I like to hear the missionary lessons. I agreed. Then I set my date for baptism. I got baptized the day I returned from my honeymoon. A day I will always remember. My wife and I are going to the Temple in a few weeks, I am so happy. I will also be ble to be sealed to both my parents who died within months of each other many years ago. I remember feeling at that time all alone with no living relatives. Never knowing that the answer to that trial at the time would be me becoming a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and be able to seal them together for ever. Yes the Prophet had a wonderful influence in my life and he will be sadly missed. But always in my memory.

President Hinckley always said what I needed to hear. He was firm and kind in his counsel. I love Him and I know he was chosen of God. He magnified His calling that is why he managed to make such a huge difference in our lives.

Everytime I read his counsel, I'd be driven to be better in all that I do. He helped me feel I could do better and make a difference in life. He definately was inspired of God.

Books by him that made a difference in my life, Way to Be, Stand a little Taller and Standing for something.

I hope I'll be able to buy My dear Sisters as I cant wait to hear what he had to say to me.

I admire him, I love him and thank him for magnifying his calling and making a difference in people's lives.

Whenever I heard President Hinckley speak, it was as if he was the only one in the room. I always could feel the Spirit so strongly and the love that he had not only for each one of us, but for the Savior. He illuminated the Light of Christ in all that He did and I will truly miss his compassion, love, humor, and his unwavering testimony that accompanied him wherever he was and whomever he was speaking to. He has left a legacy that will continue to impact the lives of millions for generations to come. I love you more than you will ever know President Hinckley-thank you for inspiring me to be better and measure up to my potential! Your influence has changed my life-now and forever!

There are so many things to remember President Hinckley. The one that sticks in my mind is what he said once on an interview describing the Gospel in one sentence: "The purpose of the Gospel is to make bad men good and good men better".
